Recruitment, retention, and effective management of the workforce are pivotal to the success of all organizations, especially social enterprises. This program will introduce you to the basic principles in the Introduction to Human Resource Management where we accentuate the alignment between organizational mission and the operations of the enterprise. In course 2, the Human Resources Development Cycle, you will learn the important process that every org needs to put in place when hiring. Course three focuses on specific insight around the Canadian Human Rights Act and provides information about addressing the needs of employees dealing with a disability who may need accommodation. The final course is optional but will help those who use volunteers to find and retain them for short-term and long-term projects.

1. INTRODUCTION TO HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
A good Human Resource professional lives and breathes the culture of an organization and helps to ensure that the core values of the organization are alive and well day in and day out. These resources provide an introduction to the basic principles of Human Resources Management that you can share with your clients, including attracting, engaging, and retaining top talent, sourcing and implementing training, and advising other managers on issues related to employees.
2. HUMAN RESOURCE PLANNING CYCLE
The Human Resource planning cycle is absolutely key in the development and maintenance of any effective organization. If your client wants to attract and retain talented people, it is imperative that they have a well-defined Human Resources plan and strategy in place. An HR plan that is aligned with the organization’s business objectives will assist in creating a supportive work environment and culture that will help find and keep great people.
3. HUMAN RIGHTS: DISABILITY AND ACCOMMODATION
These resources provide learners with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with a piece of legislation that seems daunting but is in fact quite helpful when dealing with complex workplace issues. It’s important to have discussions around disability and accommodation proactively. The goal of this course is to provide the basic knowledge needed to effectively and sensitively address the needs of employees who require accommodation due to a disability.
4. VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT – OPTIONAL
These resources help us consider the potential role of volunteers within a social enterprise, and focus on the knowledge and tools needed to integrate volunteers into an operation for short-term and long-term projects. This module includes the steps necessary to recruit, train, place and acknowledge volunteers. The module will help you help your client consider issues that may arise throughout the process and put forward possible solutions and resources available to assist with volunteer management.

All course fees are non-refundable and non-transferable except as expressly provided in the additional terms in conditions for the applicable course. All fees and applicable taxes, if any, are payable in USD.
Termination and Access Restriction
SEI reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate your access to the Services or any portion thereof at any time, without notice.
Content and Content Rights
For purposes of these Terms: (i) “Content” means text, graphics, images, music, software, audio, video, works of authorship of any kind, and information or other materials that are posted, generated, provided or otherwise made available through the Services; and (ii) “User Content” means any Content that Account holders (including you) provide to be made available through the Services.
